Diabetes is a diseases characterized by increase level of glucose in the blood(hyperglycemia) or blood sugar level are too high.
it results from problem in secretion of insulin or action of insulin.

• diabetes is espically prevelant in older adults.
• diabetes is affected more den 422 million people in world till 2014.
• only in india and china is (69 million and 110 million respectively)
• people with diabetes are more prone to hospitalization then general population
•  High blood glucose levels can lead to serious diseases affecting the heart & blood vessels.

     👉 how many types of diabetes are there?

the major classification are type 1 diabetes , type 2 diabetes , gestational diabetes.

  2. what is type 1 diabetes?

• type 1 diabetes affect approx 5% to 10% of people with disease.
• also called juvenile diabetes, insulin dependent diabetes mellitus[IDDM].
• usually youngers are affected by this type (<30)
• it is characterized by an absense of insulin production and secretion by the beta cells of pancreas. in simple words "insulin production from beta cells of pancreas is stop or less production of insulin from pancreas".
• it is an autoimmune disease of beta cells of the pancreas.  

 3.what is type 2 diabetes?

• type 2 diabetes affects approx 90% to 95% of peoples with disease.
• it occures more commonly among peoples who are older them 30 and obese.
• its incidence are also increasing in youngers and childrens because of obesity in them.
• it is characterized by non insulin dependent diabetes, in this increase resistence of insulin, decrease action of insuin on body. in simple words "while pancreas is producing insulin but our body is not accepting that" due to some reasons.
• the risk factors may be obesity, sedantry lifestyle,genetically, age etc.

 4. what is gestational diabetes(diabetes during pregnency)?

• it means high blood sugar level during pregnency because of some hormones produced during pregnency.
• after delivery blood glucose level in women return to normal.
